South African Fast Bowler Wayne Parnell Accepts Islam

The South African left-arm fast bowler Wayne Parnell has accepted Islam as his new religion. He, if selected in future, will now be third Muslim in current South African team along with Hashim Amla and Pakistan born Imran Tahir.
A South African news agency Independent Online published news that Wayne Parnell has converted to Islamic faith. Proteas’ team manager Dr Mohammad Moosajee confirmed the news by saying: “It was his choice to embrace Islam.”
Another  South African news site also says  that he has not finalized his Islamic name yet but it is likely to be Waleed. As of now he is Wayne Dillon Parnell.
Some forwarded text messages are of the view that Proteas ODI vice-captain Hashim Amla’s influenced Parnell’s conversion from Christianity to Islam. However, Parnell’s agent Ismail Kajee has denied this rumor.
Wayne Parnell, who is about to turn 22, was captain of South Africa’s team in U/19 WC 2008. He made his Test debut in 2010 against England after making his ODI debut in 2009 against Australia.
Parnell is a left-arm bowler who relies on his pace and is highly regarded as limited-over cricket specialist. In ODIs, so far, he has taken 31 wickets in 19 games. He is also known for his hostile, yorker-infested, spell against Pakistan in ICC World T20 Semi Final 2009 in Nottingham.
He has also represented Delhi daredevils and Pune Warriors in IPL 2010 and 2011 respectively. Currently, he is a team-mate of Rana Naveed-ul-Hassan and Umar Gul in Sussex county’s campaign in Friends life t20 in England.

Urdu Poetry Collection

Pooch Lo TuM Bhi Is ZaMane Se,
Pyaar Chhupta Nahi Chhupane Se,

Paas Aate Ho Chhute Ho Baat Karte Ho,
Pyaar Dil Mein Hai To Laao Zuban Pe,
Aag Badhti Hai Ye Bujhane Se,

TuMhe Na Paana Shayad Behtar Hai,
Paa Ke Phir Se TuMhe Ganwane Se,

Chalo Ek Dua To Apni Puri Hui,
Mil Liye Apne Ek Deewane Se,

Roye Jaate Ho Bas Roye Jaate Ho,
Kya Hoga Ye Dhan Lutane Se...

--------------------------------------------------------

Seena Dehek Raha Hai To Kya Chup Rahe Koi,
Kyon Cheekh Cheekh Kar Na Gala Cheel Le Koi,

Saabit Hua Sukoon-E-Dil-O-Jaan Kahin Nahi,
Rishton Mein Dhundta Hai To Dhunda Kare Koi,

Haan Thik Hai Main Apni Ana Ka Mareez Hoon,
Aakhir Mere Mizaaj Mein Kyon Dakhal De Koi...

------------------------------------------------------------
Tark-E-Mohabbat Par Bhi Hogi Unko NidaMat HuMse Zyada,
Kisne Ki Hai Kaun Karega Unse Mohabbat HuMse Zyada,

HuMne Maana Aap Mein Hogi Sabr Ki TaaQat HuMse Zyada,
Dekhiye Lekin Utri Hui Hai Aapki Surat HuMse Zyada,

Uff Wo TabassuM Halka Halka Haaye Wo Bhigi Bhigi Palkein,
WaQt-E-Rukhsat Upnpe Giraan Tha LaMha-E-Rukhsat HuMse Zyada,

Koi TaManna Koi Masarrat Dilke Kareeb Aane Hi Na Di,
Kisne Ki Hai IshQ Mein Yaaron GaM Se Mohabbat HuMse Zyada...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raat Bhar Tanha Raha Din Bhar Akela Main Hi Tha,
Sheher Ki Aabadiyon Mein Apne Jaisa Main Hi Tha,

Main Hi Dariya, Main Hi Toofan, Main Hi Tha Har Mauj Bhi,
Main Hi Khud Ko Pi Gaya Sadiyon Se Pyaasa Main Hi Tha,

Kis Liye Katra Ke Jaata Hai Musafir DaM To Le,
Aaj Sukha Ped Hoon Kal Tera Saya Main Hi Tha,

Meri Dhadkan Sunnewala Dil Na Tha Duniya Ke Paas,
Sab Ki Aahat, Sabki Dhadkan Sunnewala Main Hi Tha,

Kitne Jazbon Ki Nirali Khusbuyein Thi Mere Paas,
Koi Unko Chahne Wala Nahi Tha Main Hi Tha...

---------------------------------------------------------------

Teri Hi Tarah HaMein Yaad Aane Wala Ho,
Tere Siwa Bhi Koi To Satane Wala Ho,

Har Ek Subah Yahi Dil Mein Hook Uthti Hai,
HaMein Bhi Naaz Se Koi Jagane Wala Ho,

Wo Kis UMMid Mein Ghar Mein Rakhein Ke Jis Ghar Mein,
Na Aane Wala Ho Na Koi Jaane Wala Ho,

Har Ek Se Nazrein Milayi Hai Unke Kuche Mein,
Ki Jaise Ab Koi HuM Ko Bulane Wala Ho,

Hai Dosto Ke Liye Aayina Nazar Meri,
Nazar Milaye Jo Nazrein Milane Wala Ho,

Ke Jaise Koi Bala Mujhpe Aane Wali Hai,
Haraas Kehta Hai Koi Bachane Wala Ho,

HaMare Shaher Mein Kya Kya Saje Sajaye Hai Ghar,
HaMare Ghar Ko Bhi Koi Sajane Wala Ho...

------------------------------------------------------------

"Kaha Tha Na"

kaha tha na
is tarah sotay huye mat chor k jana
mujhe besha jagga dena
bata dena

muhabbat k safar mein sath meray chal nahi sakten
judai k safar mein sath meray chal nahi sakten

tumhain rasta badalna hai
mere had se nikalna hai
tumhain kis baat ka dar tha
tumhain jane nahi deta
kahen pe qaid kar leta

aray pagli muhabat ki tabiet mein zabardasti nahi hoti
jisay rasta badalna ho usay rasta badalnay se
jisay had se nikalna ho usay had se nikalnay se

na koi rok paya hai
na koi rok paye ga
tumhain kis baat ka dar tha
mujhe beshak jagga detay
main tum ko dekh hi leta
tumhain koi dua deta

kam az kam yun to na hota, mere sathi haqeeqat hai
tumharay baad khonay k liye kuch bhi nahi baqi

magar khonay se darat hoon
main ab sonay se darta hoon

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kabhi To Mere Bhi Khwaab Pure Honge,
Kabhi To Mujhe Bhi Laakhon Pyar Karne Wale Honge,

Ye Khwaab NaMuMkin Hi Sahi,
Par Dil Mein Ek UMMid Hai Ye Khwab Kabhi To Pure Honge,

Ho Aaj Palat Kar Bhi Nahi Dekhta,
Kabhi To Wo Bhi Mujhe Dekhenge,

Jo Mujhse Baat Karna Bhi Pasand Nahi Karte,
Kabhi To Wo Bhi Mujhse Baat Karenge,

Jo Mujhse Nafrat Karte Hai,
Kabhi To Wo Bhi Mujhse Pyaar Karenge,

Jo Mujhpar Bharosa Nahi Karte,
Kabhi To Wo Bhi Mujhpar Bharosa Karenge,

Jo Mujhe Gareeb SaMajh Kar Thukra Gaye,
Kabhi To Wo Mujhe Dobara Apnayenge,

Dil Kehta Hai,
Kabhi To Mere Khwaab Pure Honge,

Ab To Dil Toot Sa Gaya Hai,
Ab To Lagta Hai HuMko Marne Ke Baad Kafan Bhi Naseeb Na Honge,

Socha Na Tha,
Mujhe Itna Nafrat Karne Wale Log Honge,

YaQeen Hi Nahi Aata,
Mujhe Hazaron Log Baddua Denewale Honge,

Jo Socha Bhi Na Tha,
Wo Gunaah Honge,

Mujh Jaise Gunehgaar Ko Bhi,
Kabhi To Khushiya Naseeb Hogi,

Jo Naraz Hogaye,
Kabhi Wo Apni Naarazgi KhataM Karenge,

Jo Mujhe Chhod Gaye Tanha,
Kabhi To Wo Laut Kar Aayenge,

Aye Dost Itna Bura Bhi Nahi,
Bas TuM HuM Ko SaMajh Na Sakoge...

----------------------------------------------------

Chehre Pe Khushi Chha Jaati Hai, Aankhon Mein Suroor Aa Jaata Hai, Jab TuM Mujhe Apna Kehte HoApne Pe Guroor Aa Jaata Hai,

TuM Husn Ki Khud Ek Duniya Ho, Shayad Ye TuMhe MaluM Nahi, Mehfil Mein TuMhare Aane Se, Har Chiz Pe Noor Aa Jaata Hai,

HuM Paas Se TuMko Kya Dekhein,Jab TuM Mukabil Hote Ho, Betaab Nigahon Ke Aage, Parda Sa Zaroor Aa Jaata Hai,

Jab TuMse Mohabbat Ki HuMne, Tab Jaake Kahin Ye Raaz Khula, Marne Ka SaliQa Aata Hi Nahi,

Jeene Ka Shaoor Aa Jaata Hai...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jab Chand TuMse Sawal Kare,
TuM Nazrein Usse Chura Lena,
Aur ShaaM Apni Baahon Mein Le,
To Aankh Mein NaMi Ko Chhupa Lena,

Jab Yaadein TuMko Tadpaye,
TuM Yaadon Ka Diya Bujha Dena,
Jab Mohabbat TuMse Apnapan Maange,
Khwahishon Se Apna DaaMan Chhuda Lena,

Jab Kuch Bhi TuM Na Kar Pao,
Bas Ek KaaM Kar Dena,
TuM Mujhko Bhula Dena,
Haan TuM Sirf Mujhko Bhula Dena...

------------------------------------------------------------

Main TuMko Bahut Aane Lagun Jab Yaad, Chale Aana,
Bhool Jaana Apni Kahi Har Baat, Chale Aana,

Judayi Ka Wo LaMha Aur Wo Manzar Dhalte Sooraj Ka,
Yaad TuMko Jab Aane Lage Wo ShaaM, Chale Aana,

Bhool Jao TuM Agar Manzil Kabhi Apni,
Uthana Apne QadaM Phir Meri Taraf, Chale Aana,

Had Se Guzar Jaye Jab Mera Zabt-E-GhuM,
Aur Main Pukarun TuMko Baar Baar, Chale Aana,

TuMhare Bin Jeene Ka Ab Tasavvur Nahi Dost,
Meri Maut Ka Gar TuMko Mile PayaaM, Chale Aana...

Azad Kashmir and British Kashmiri Diaspora - By Shams Rehman

Dadyal Online recommends that you read this 328-page book (click here to buy) by Shams Rehman. Here is some information regarding this book:

While the focus of most writing on Kashmir recently has been rightly on the Valley of Kashmir due to the intensity of confrontation with the Indian state there, it has created an impression that all is well in 'Azad' Kashmir, the Pakistani controlled part of Kashmir. This collection focuses on this other Kashmir especially on the rebirth of independence politics and how it has grown into a transnational phenomenon through 'Azad' Kashmiri diaspora in Britain where the movement for independence has contributed significantly in shaping the Kashmiri identity distinct from the Indian and Pakistani identities imposed by the Indian and Pakistani governments and subsequently by the British academia and the state. The collection is aimed to contribute in the general awareness of interested social science students and political activists about the nature of independent Kashmir perspective that has so far been subdued by the Indian and Pakistani nationalist discourses. It is also expected to generate some serious debate on the challenges of multiplicity and pluralism that independence politics and Kashmiri identity is currently facing across the division line in Kashmir and diaspora.

Life is Too Short to Hate Anyone

Once upon a time two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one on the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE .
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath.
The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?”
The other friend replied : ”When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”
LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE!!! Life Is Too Short To Waste Time Hating Anyone

Culture is the Culprit - Written by Mohammed Kabir

The article below is taken from comments posted on our Facebook page by Mohammed Kabir whilst discussing the topic of forced marriages:

Our region in AJK and Pakistan before Islam was introduced was one of the most barbaric regions. We still follow a lot of those traditions. Look into history and we see how much of an unruly people we were. Change came through Islam but we stuck to traditions. The majority from Hindu times, which also stem and are entwined with deeper history before Islam. The culture of ‘what will people say’ is the biggest problem.

We have a fear of people. This needs to be replaced with a respect of Allah swt which over rides the fear we have of people.
As we all know, in the not so recent past how many people chanted praise for the election candidates. Candidates they hardly knew didn’t even know what these people would do for the region, and people laid their lives down for them. All this to look good in the eyes of the people forgetting who we should really try and please.

Similarly we give rishtha to people to look good. I believe these are the common thoughts.

1 : People will say so and so son/daughter married so and so and didn’t marry where his/her parents wanted her to. Shame on the parents.

We need to replace this with a respect of Allah swt.

2 : Somehow by listening to our children we are going against Islam. It is seen as disrespect from the children.

We have to listen to our children’s needs. They will be spending the rest of their life with this person. This one single relationship could bring the best or worst out of them. We, as parents, are responsible for this.

3 : We see children as items we can use to make ourselves look good. Get them married into a planned future model like a brraaddri system, a system to maintain ownership of wealth.

Planning the future using the life of the ones we are supposed to care for and nurture is pure evil in my eyes. That is selfish beyond imagination. It has such a wide impact on the community it’s difficult to list in a post like this.

4 : We see other cultures as evil. Our culture is the end all be all. All else is simply wrong.

All other beings are Allah swt creation. We should see them as such and realise being different is not being against Islam or being evil.

5 : We pick a rishtha we feel will ultimately take care of us in old age.

Which one of our elders actually thought yes I’m getting married so that I can take care of so and so in old age.
Which one of us actually would get married so that we can take care of so and so.

All these ways of thinking do not mean marriage.
They take away the core meaning of marriage and replace it with dictatorship, bullying, manipulation and display a disregard for another’s life.

I’m not saying everyone thinks like this but the core of our cultural beliefs revolve around such thoughts and they are as unislamic as they can get.

Do Dil Jo Nahin Mil Saktey

Zaara: Yaar, Aamir tum Dadyal aa ke itnay badal gaye ho?

Aamir: Kya matlab, what do you mean?

Zaara: I mean you really wanted to marry me when we studied together at University, but now you seem to have changed.

Aamir: Dekho main tumse pehlay bhi keh chuka hoon ke mere liye ammi abba ki khushi se zyada zaroori aur kuch bhi nahin hai. Tum achi tarah se jaanti ho ke woh meri shaadi tumharey saath nahin honey denge.

Zaara: Sirf is liye ke meri kaum alag hai, itni si baat hai?

Aamir: You won't understand Zaara, we are young, they are our elders, we must listen to them.

Zaara: Even if they are in the wrong?

Aamir: Mom and Dad want the best for me, they don't want me to marry a errmmm, sorry....

Zaara: Look, why don't you just say it, they don't want you to marry from a Raja family.

Aamir: Miki ni pata Raja kay ona thay Chaudhary kay cheez oni, lekin miki aye pata yah ke ammi abba apni jaan di shorsan lekin assan do ni shaadi ni karwaan lagey.

Zaara: So what happened to all that time we made promises to one another?

Aamir: I'm sorry Zaara, but I am totally helpless, do you want me to humiliate my mother and my father?

Zaara: What is our religion?

Aamir: Islam obviously and yes I know there is no caste system in Islam but you try to explain that to the elders around here.

Zaara: Main kuch nahin jaanti Aamir, main sirf tumse shaadi karna chahti hoon.

Aamir: You have to understand, I have no choice in this, they have found me a nice girl in the family and I will spend my life with her.

Zaara: To phir mera kya hoga?

Aamir: Please don't make this more difficult for me....

Zaara: Chalo teek hai tum mujhey chor do, tumharey liye ahsaan hoga lekin mere liye mushkil hai tumhay bhulana.

Aamir: Maine bahut koshish ki hai, ammi ko samjhaney ki, abba se bhi baat ki. Chachu ne kaha ke agar maine kaum se bahar shaadi ki to woh mujhey family se door kar denge.

Zaara: We are living in 2011, can you believe that we are having this conversation?

Aamir: We are in 2011 but the thoughts and attitudes of people in our villages have not changed over the years.

Zaara: I don't understand, what is it that makes us different? I am from a Raja family and you are from a Chaudhary family, but we hold the same religious beliefs, we are from the same village, we eat the same food, we are so similar that it's unbelievable, isn't this just a tag or a label?

Aamir: Look, I'm against the caste system and you know that very well, I have failed to convince mom and dad so I cannot marry you. Please try to understand my decision.

Zaara: What is it that makes a Raja different to a Chaudhary? Why do your parents think badly of Raja families? Aren't we all brothers and sisters in Islam? Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) taught us to be united as Muslims and to be one community. Why do our brothers and our fathers pray together in the Masjid and why do they hug one another on Eid? Then when it comes to marriage, they are not one, they won't allow marriages with Muslims of a different caste. This whole thing makes me sick, angry and frustrated.

Aamir: I totally agree with what you are saying, but I cannot leave my mother and father because I love them and it would be disrespectful of me to turn away from them.

Zaara: Ok, thanks for all the memories, I am leaving now, and won't ever come back into your life. Khuda Hafiz Aamir, hope you have a good life.
